It's a new year, a new life, a new show

As a christmas present a video of Buddy Holly playing some of the chords from FWOFAF II has been added to the myspace videosection. The reason it's been added is not because of the awesomeness of the chords but of two other circumstances. One, in the chord jumbling back and forth you can hear a teeny weeny little taste of a probably upcoming song. Secondly, its played on a vintage fender something something, which shows that our music is of the timeless kind.

New Year breaks in, new decade enters and robs us of the last one which has built our identities and frailties. This new one may contain us actually breaking into some sort of next tier where we are listened to activilly. Well probably actually. How to sum up our decade is kind of hard, as we only existed in roughly 40 percent of it. But events have prior events and strains lead longer back than you just might imagine. Here's a summary

2000-2003 Stefanie, Johannes and Snoop attend junior high music class together.

2002 February, Buddy Holly and Patrik travel to the swedish ski resort Åre together through a mutual friend, Björn. Friendship is established, much based on both parts love for music that enhances their feeling of self pity.

2003-2006 Stefanie and Snoop attend the same High School.

2005 September, Buddy Holly and Patrik depart on an epically distasteful journey around the globe. Before they set foot on New Zeeland and bought a fine vehicle with which they would develop more intimate connections than they could imagine, they randomly meet a beautiful woman called Eloise Kerr, one late night in New York. Patrik and BD ar dazzled by her and they make her go have lunch with them the following day. She never shows up...

2005 November, BD and Patrik meet Oscar Dahl in Bangkok on their way home. They get drunk and decide to form a band the following year.

2006 January, the band is formed and the still on going relationship with Gula Villan is established through the guidance of Patrik Engström. Gula Villan, in the suburb of Haninge is where we rehearse and that's really where all the magic has taken place so far.

2006 Spring, the band is still looking for a vocalist. Actually they should also be looking for a bass player but Oscar Dahl has talked BD into playing bass by lying to his face and claiming that it will help him score more women. Patrik and BD go to a party, Patrik Engström comes as well and brings his friend Stefanie. Without much further adoo, she joins the band. Probably not that impressed by the songs (we had 2 two thirds of songs), she must have had a good gut feeling.

2006 summer. Oscar announces his coming departure from the band because of studies in southern Sweden. The remaining trio decides to name their band Eloise Kerr in a vain attempt to be able to find the legendary scottish woman again.

2006 Autumn, Oscar leaves. Martin is freed from his bass playing duties. Bits and pieces for what later will become "Pacific" and "Walk Away" are created but never completely fulfilled. The band arranges the legendary club "inte dyrt men billigt" (not expensive but cheap) in Gula Villan and Stefanies former class-mate Snoop drops by for a visit. According to legend, Snoop and BD shakes hands but BD was to drunk to remember. Patrik and Stefanie become an item which still prospers happily.

2007 spring, Snoop joins. It takes the music to a completely new level. Summertime is written in one session and in the next "inte dyrt men billigt"-club the band makes its first live performance. In a live cover of "Man ska leva för varandra" (one should live for one another) Patrik Engström fills in on bass.

2007 autumn, in search for someone to play the bass, Snoop and Stefanie think of their former class mate Johannes, who is also Patriks cousin. He joins and to say the least, the level of excellency is once again increased. Johannes comes up with the idea for Dickinson, although the song is subdued to some minor alteration and altercation. During the fall Martin and Tomas attends the same philosophy course and during heated arguments about relativity and utilitarianism they become friends. Tomas has the opportunity to hit Martin but chooses not to.

2007 november, the band plays for the second time, now with a complete configuration. To say the least, the gig is an underperformance. BD got really drunk that night as a side effect of a shaky stage-performance and has no idea as to whos hands he shook.

2008 april, Eloise Kerr records their first EP, the Flames and Fury EP at Mattias Lindbergs Voilum Studios.

2008, 5 september. BD goes on leave and travels the world and the seven seas during autumn and winter. But before that the band arranges the last (to this date) inte dyrt men villigt, combined with a live show. For the first time, FWOFAF II is heard in public. The sound technician falls in love with the band. During BD:s abscence Johannes moves to guitar and Patrik Engström, who has hovered around the band, or vice versa, picks up the bass. During the fall Eloise Kerr makes one gig at Stockholm University. Photos of BD are displayed on stage and the show could be considered a requiem for Eloise Kerr pre 5 september 2008.

2009 spring. But as we all now passing makes new opportunities. Eloise Kerr v 2.0 are better, faster, scooter than anything before. BD slots in again and after some grinding and friction everything is eventually back to normal, only much much much better. The band performs two times and after the last gig Patrik Engström decides to quit. The group, by now used to not being able to establish some sort of regularity in their group dynamic, search for a new bass instrumentalist.

2009, summer Martin thinks of his old philosophy classmate Tomas. The band has some trials and falls in love with him. He joins and exclamation marks are painted in everyones heads. In the end of July the Gilgamesh EP is recorded, also at Mattias Lindbergs Voilum Studios.

2009, 31 january. This is written and a decade flashes before the author's eyes. Cigarettes, kisses, alcohol, Simpsons, football, dancing, guitarriffs, night promenades, melancholy, burns, snow falls, raindrops, candy, beers, handshakes, flashing lights, broken hearts, mended hearts, twists, video cameras, bruises, anxiety, calmness, chosenness, randomness, texts, smiles, sunshine, virginities lost, tea and TIME. It all flows through us and what we pour into our music. It might sound ridiculous, even for this blog which apparently lacks some sort of temperance. But nonetheless, that's what we are about.

We think that 2010 will be a serious decade and we make serious music. This is our decade. We start off on 2 of january 2010 at Mosebacke Etablissemang in Sockhome. If you choose not to come, you just wont be able to say you were there, when pieces of time fell into place.

The warning

Songs often get project-names. Songs rarely get new names after that. Probably twas the case this time as well. It's a new song that we have added. Our second single from the new EP. We're very proud of it.

November came. We made music. December came and with it came an e-mail from Molotiv Studios. They calleth and we cometh. So it's time to huddle up, get dressed, put on make-up, eat a steady breakfast, practice tirelessly, call your friends, tidy your room, check your messages, call of your morning meetings, smile smile smile and get to Mosebacke Etablissemang 1900 hours on the 2nd of January. Stockholm will have a massive headache which we aim to sooth. Comfort is not a sofa, Pizza and a heteronormative Santa Clause on your 40 oz Coca Cola Bottle. Comfort is enjoying a great gig, knowing that there are other people on and off stage that appreciate life in multicolor visions with singlelaned endings. Its bitter and it is beautiful and if you dont get it, we will make you feel it.

Unless you dont understand music. Then we have a problem.
